Our Mission Statement
Joni and Friends Bakersfield started in January 2006 to build a network of Christians in our community to fulfill the Luke 14 mandate; by equipping people to recognize that God created each person to bring glory to Him and are necessary to complete the body of Christ.Vision Statement
We see ourselves as a resource to educate and bring awareness of Christís love for people with disabilities. In so doing, we are connecting people to services, agencies, and churches hoping to create or improve existing connections for the disabled in our community Goals
- To educate congregations and the community about people with disabilities and to develop awareness of their value as a part of the body of Christ
- To reach out to people with disabilities and their families or care-providers with the good news that God loves them, that Jesus died for their sins, and that they have an important part to play in Godís kingdom.
- To advocate for the education and change as needed to include people with disabilities in all aspects of church life and to honor the gifts that God has given them by the use of those talents.
